Hello world!

Well I held off for as long as I could with creating a blog. You see to call myself an ‘author’, makes me feel like such a fraud!

I have had short stories published as a group effort for a group called Writers for Welfare, created on the page of the wonderfully talented and so generous at heart Sue Welfare. Sue had held little weekly comps for us struggling writers, and so a group who wanted to publish some of our work and raise money for charity as a bonus, was born.  Apart from this, I am not ‘published’ as others have been.

I’ve had the odd short story published in the past in magazines, and I used to write a newsletter for my daughter’s kindergarten way back when, and I also produced a little newsy thing to keep my work mates amused about the goings on of a power company we worked for in West Australia….it was just a bit of fun.

For quite a few years now I have been writing ‘books’. I’ve discarded quite a few in disappointment at how they were turning out, which was pretty boring in my view, but some I have been working on over a lot of years and still occasionally revisit them.  One day I’ll get one of them finished. Perhaps it’s the fear of what do I do then that is stopping me from getting one completed…who knows?

Anyway, I have been spurred on by my good friend Jane Risdon, a fellow author who is more or less on the same plane as I am with writing. Jane is very encouraging and has suggested I start a blog so I can participate in something called ‘The Next Big Thing’. In order to do this I needed a blog…..so here I am!

I promise to write something vaguely interesting at least once a week, and I apologise in advance should it bore you rigid.

So until the next time, hooroo and big hugs.
